Amos 8

Dear God,

thank You for Your Word and for this chapter, which reminds us to be mindful of the injustices and suffering around us. Help us to be aware of the ways we may contribute to these injustices and to actively seek to make a positive difference in the world.

May we have eyes to see those who are suffering and hearts to reach out to them with compassion and love. Give us the strength and courage to speak out against oppression and to work towards a world where all people are treated with dignity and respect.

Help us to be mindful of our own actions and to use our resources to help those in need. Guide us in using our influence and privilege for the betterment of others, and help us to live our lives in a way that reflects Your love and justice.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Gracias por tu Palabra y por este texto en el libro de Amós. Me doy cuenta de la importancia de no ignorar las injusticias que suceden a nuestro alrededor, y de no ser indiferentes a las necesidades de los más vulnerables. Perdóname si en ocasiones he cerrado los ojos a las injusticias que veo, y ayúdame a ser una voz para aquellos que no tienen voz.

Te pido que me des el coraje y la sabiduría para actuar en contra de la opresión y la explotación que veo en el mundo. Que pueda ser un instrumento de tu justicia y amor, y que mi vida refleje tu compasión y misericordia hacia los que sufren. Atráeme más cerca a tu corazón, y ayúdame a ser una luz en medio de la oscuridad. En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
