Amos 5

Read chapter

Dear God,

Thank You for Your Word and for this chapter. Thank You for speaking to us through the prophets and for reminding us to seek You and do good, to establish justice, and to rebuke the oppressor.

Help us to hear and heed Your message, to turn from our ways of complacency and selfishness, and to actively pursue righteousness and justice in our lives and in our world. Give us the courage and strength to stand up against injustice and to advocate for the marginalized and oppressed.

May we be a people who truly seek You, who love what is good, and who hate what is evil. May our lives be a reflection of Your love and mercy, and may we walk humbly with You, seeking to do Your will in all things.

We pray for the wisdom and discernment to know how to make a real difference in the world, and for the compassion and empathy to love our neighbors as ourselves. Help us to be Your hands and feet, bringing hope, healing, and reconciliation to a broken and hurting world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
