The widows

– Isaiah 54:4
“Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.

My God,

You are the God of compassion and mercy, and You have shown a special concern for the widows throughout history. You have commanded us to care for and support those who have lost their husbands, and I pray that You would pour out Your love and provision upon the widows in our community. Provide for their needs, comfort their hearts, and surround them with a community of support and love. Help them to feel Your presence and know that they are not alone in their grief.

I pray that You would raise up people around them who are willing to come alongside them and offer practical help and emotional support. Give them the strength and courage to face each day, and may they find peace and joy in You, despite their circumstances. Help them to trust in Your faithfulness and lean on You in times of need.

I ask all of this in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who understands what it means to suffer and be left alone. May the widows in our community find hope and comfort in Your love and know that You will never leave them nor forsake them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
